Boulder

We’re excited to welcome everyone to Boulder on Friday evening to kick off the weekend! If you’ve never been (or even if you have) we highly recommend having dinner in Boulder before the Welcome Drinks. There are a ton of great restaurants right along Pearl Street where the Welcome Drinks will be, and you can’t beat the view of the Flatirons.

Food

Mountain Sun Brewery

THE spot for casual vibes, super tasty food, incredible staff, and great beer. Maybe the best part — they still only take cash or check. Feels like the best of Colorado and what Pearl Street was like before Arc’teryx and the like moved in across the street.

Avanti

A cool food hall right across from Oak at Fourteenth, our Welcome Drinks spot, that has a variety of food options, 2 bars, and an unbeatable rooftop with a view of the Flatirons.

Rosetta Hall

Another great food hall option with a rooftop bar. It’s slightly more upscale than Avanti.

T/aco

Cheap and very tasty tacos and margs with a laid back vibe. We try to go here whenever we get the chance.

Decent Bagel

THE BEST BAGELS IN TOWN! Sunday morning after the wedding we’ll meet in LaVern M. Johnson park in Lyons to share these bagels post the wedding but let’s be real — one bagel the whole weekend isn’t enough and we recommend visiting their NEW shop on Arapahoe Rd.

Bookstores

Boulder Bookstore

There forever. Big and perfect for walking through.

Trident Bookstore

Cute little place with a great coffee shop inside.

Outdoors

Boulder Bike Path + Boulder Creek

Boulder is one of the most bikeable cities in the country! Much of the path runs along Boulder Creek and runs adjacent to downtown Boulder & Pearl Street.

Chautauqua Park

A beautiful park south of Pearl Street that gets you up to the hiking trails that access the Flatirons.

Mount Sanitas

If you stay on Pearl Street for long enough, walking west, it’ll turn into a hiking trail that’ll get you high enough up for a quick view of just how flat Colorado is until the Flatirons that you’re walking up pop out. It also connects to Mount Sanitas trail system.

Lyons

Our wedding town! It’s a lovely little town that gets you the feel of a Colorado mountain town without all the driving or elevation gain. As all great Colorado towns do, it has a lovely river path worth exploring.

Food

Moxie Bread Co.

Local, small town bakery with delicious bread and pastries!

Oskar Blues

The flagship location of the now national beer distributor that opened in 1997. We’ve heard they don’t let you through security in Denver Airport if you didn’t visit a brewery during your trip to Colorado.

Marigold

A great restaurant worth checking out if you have another free night. The celeriac ‘parmigiana’ is one of the best meals Brennan has ever had.

Estes Park

The gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park — where Brennan does most of his backcountry skiing! It’ll be a day trip that takes a few hours but wow is it beautiful. A number of lookouts along the windy Trail Ridge Road provide stunning mountain views even without the need to hike. If you venture high enough, you might see some golden aspens this time of year. A true bucket-list-worthy sight if you haven’t already crossed it off your list.

Downtown Estes is also a tourist-friendly and quaint day trip from Lyons. The drive is up a pretty rock-walled canyon and it is also a windy road in case any of you are sensitive to curves while driving in a car (experience tells us that a few of you are!).

Food

Antonio’s Real New York Pizza

Yup. You read that right. “Real” New York pizza in the mountains of Colorado. Does it live up to its name? We’ll let you decide.

Bird & Jim

A more upscale place that has incredible food and great cocktails.

Wapiti Colorado Pub

Outdoor deck sits above the Fall River for a nice outdoor pubby meal. The menu features Rocky Mountain Oysters — you’ll learn if you don’t already know.

Longmont

A suburb of Boulder that provides a more laid back vibe. The Main Street is a nice place to walk around with a number of shops and restaurants to check out.

La Mariposa

A popular, rooftop Mexican place that’s open late and is a good go-to for tacos, apps, and margs.

Left Hand Brewery

Another long-standing Colorado brewery that has a spacious beer garden next door to the main, old school brewery. The location is off the main drag of downtown Longmont and provides beautiful views of Longs Peak, one of 58 mountain peaks above 14,000 feet in Colorado. Brennan is crazy enough to have hiked to the top. Ali is smart enough to have stayed home that day.
